Animus began as a lifelong passion for gaming and hardware. What started with a humble Commodore 64 as a teenager soon grew into a fascination with how computers worked — and how they could be pushed further. As a young adult, Animus commandeered his father’s business PC and attempted to upgrade it with a graphics card. It was a steep learning curve, but the system was eventually transformed into a gaming machine. Before long, the sounds of Command & Conquer: Red Alert and Medal of Honour echoed through the house.
That first step inside a PC case sparked a journey of continuous learning. Over the years, Animus explored every corner of IT hardware, driven by curiosity and a love of gaming. There was a brief detour into console gaming — mainly due to budget and space — but the pull of PC building never truly faded. A conversation with a fellow gamer at work reignited that original passion, reminding Animus that the process of building and upgrading was just as rewarding as playing the games themselves.
On a Saturday afternoon, the first personal build in years came together: carefully chosen components, a modest budget, and the satisfaction of assembling something truly personal. That build opened the door to many more.
